Well, Google has just gotten 1 step closer to world domination. Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. just visited Google headquarters on September 24th, 2012 to sign a bill enabling the testing and operation of self-driving cars in California.
This is huge, Google’s self-driving cars have already traveled over 300,000 miles without trouble and clearly this number is about to skyrocket. There is a bunch of potential good that can come from this, down the line when this technology becomes mainstream. People who are under the legal driving age or too old to safely operate cars would now be able to get around. Traffic congestion and parking drama could potentially be eliminated all together and people lives could become a whole lot more productive while commuting instead of paying attention to the road ahead.
