Stanford University researchers are using a wave-powered surfboard robot to track great white sharks off the San Francisco coast. The robotic surfboard relays tracking information via satellite link direct to Stanford in order to learn more about great white sharks homing abilities. All this fun shark tracking intelligence has been released to the public in a free iOS app called Shark Net.
