Square is an electronic payment service allowing users in the United States to accept credit card payments through their mobile phones either by swiping the card or manually entering credit card information into the phone. Square charges a 2.75% fee for each credit card transaction. Square currently provides the card readers and mobile app free to its users and is available for both iOS and Android devices.
This August Starbucks announced that have invested 25 million dollars into Square Inc. and will be implementing Square to process transactions in 7,000 of their U.S. locations.
