Swiss Photographer Sues Apple For Stealing Her “Eye”

First the Swiss clock catastrophe and now stolen work from a Swiss photographer, Apple, no wonder your getting sued left right and center. Sabine Liewald is suing Apple for using her registered photograph (above) in Apple’s latest Retina Display campaign without proper licensing.

Apple originally obtained the a high-res image from Sabine’s agent for “comping” purposes and had acknowledged that they did not obtain rights to use the photograph in any advertising campaign. Apple then proceeded to publish the “eye” all over its marketing material. As a result, Sabine is suing Apple for damages regarding copyright infringement, and someone at Apple is likely hand out their resume.
